Our church offers a variety of opportunities to get to know each other, have a good time and change the world. Examples include:
Share thoughts on the many dimensions of and challenges to spiritual growth in our lives at a regular breakfast meeting.
Offered: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 9:00am
Women of the congregation who gather to share projects, make quilts for our greater community in need and beautiful wall hangings for the church. We distribute the quilts to community services working with folks who could use a comforting touch. A total of 138 quilts were given to eight Twin Cities organizations and The Lamb School in Parbatipur, Bangladesh, in 2018. Newcomers are always welcome and need not be accomplished at needlework. (This year the ladies are working from home, due to the closure of our building during the COVID-19 pandemic.)
Offered: Wednesdays, 9:00am
A group of women who gather for Bible Study, fellowship, and support, from September-June. In December, they usually have a holiday potluck, and gather donations for local charities. In June, they often meet in the church courtyard for a year-end picnic. That is doubtful this year, with the building closed due to the pandemic. However, meetings have taken place on Zoom. If you're interested, call the church office for more information.
Our faith community embraced the Stephen Ministry program 18 years ago. It is now under the leadership of Barb and Bruce Nelson, Pastor Riz Prakasim, Keith Buckley, and Ed Galle (leader emeritus). Its mission is to offer confidential Christian care to those in need. It allows our pastoral care to extend beyond what our pastor can do. Stephen Ministers are trained to listen, comfort, and support.
