Our Lenten journey together this year will take us through the seven weeks from 14 February to Easter Day on 27 March and our ‘Easter encounter’ with Jesus. We will hear some sad and searching stories that might make us feel like crying, as Jesus did. So we will make and decorate a teardrops and create a road of tears to represent our journey to Jerusalem.
Get some teardrop shapes from the tray on the Project Wall in the atrium or download them here (PDF).
Set aside some quiet time during Lent. Try for every day. If you miss a day, no worries! Just forgive and be gentle with yourself and try again.
Gather crayons, colored pencils or magazines, scissors and glue and if you want, some inspirational reading. You can read the lectionary Scripture for the day (http://www.presbyterianmission.org/devotion/Â ) or some other Lenten devotional to inspire you or just let the art materials and the teardrop shape lead the way. (We will give you some other hints in E-notes as we go along.)https://unite-production.s3.amazonaws.com/tenants/ncpc/attachments/60997/teardrops.pdf
Before you begin coloring or cutting and pasting, take a moment to connect with God and how God might be leading you during this season of Lent. Every time we make something, we are co-creating with our Creator – what a holy privilege!
Each Sunday, bring your completed teardrops to church and deposit them in the envelope on the Project Wall. We will be arranging them on the wall and you can be inspired by the journeys of your brothers and sisters in Christ.
